The AT adventure is near! 29 days to go and doing some final prep by sitting in my hammock on a rainy day. This blog (my first) will highlight the daily trials, tribulations, beauty, danger, trail friendships, and all the other magic of section hiking the Appalachian Trail. For those not familiar with the trail it is a 2183 mile trail running from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Kathdin Mountain in Maine. You can find more info on the trail here…. http://www.appalachiantrail.org/
I will be hiking one section at a time over the course of my lifetime (what’s left of it) to complete it. I’m honored to be starting this journey with my best friend Derek! We’ve been through a lot of life together and am looking forward to going through this journey with him.
For our 1st section we decided to start at the beginning in Georgia. We plan to hike all but 8.9 miles of the Georgia section. Springer to Dicks Creek Gap and the Top of Georgia Hostel http://www.topofgeorgiahostel.com/
So…. more updates to come before setting foot on trail. Looking forward to sharing some of the trail with you.

Awesome!
